We never sell your data. Ever.

We never collect your location. Not approximate, not precise, not at all.

We never fingerprint your device. No browser tracking, no screen size logging, nothing.

We don't even auto-detect your timezone — you choose it manually.

You can delete your data whenever you'd like.

You control what you share.

StarLove is built with love, respect, and kavod for the Jewish community.

Welcome to StarLove — a digital Jewish home for connection, community, and culture. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using StarLove, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2️⃣ What We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate StarLove, support safety, and enable features.

2.1 Account Information

Name
Email
Hebrew name (optional)
Username + username history
Profile photo
Profile type (Individual, Organization, Creator, etc.)
Biography & optional profile fields

2.2 Content You Create

Posts, comments, reactions
Send Love interactions
Event RSVPs
Community Hub activity
Messages (if messaging features are enabled)

2.3 Technical Data (Minimal)

Authentication timestamps
Error logs (without device fingerprints)
Page navigation patterns

We do NOT collect: device type, browser type, operating system, screen size, or any device fingerprinting data.

🚫 2.4 We Do Not Collect Location Data

StarLove does not collect or store any location data.

GPS location
IP-based location
WiFi or Bluetooth location
Cell tower location
Approximate or inferred geolocation

The only location-related data we store is your manually selected timezone to support Shabbat Mode. We do not auto-detect your timezone from your browser or device.

🛡️ 2.5 No Device Fingerprinting

StarLove does not fingerprint your device.

We do not collect or store browser type, operating system, screen size, device type, user agent strings, or any canvas/WebGL/audio fingerprints.

Why? Post-October 7th, we believe the Jewish community deserves technology built with privacy as a foundation, not an afterthought.

3️⃣ How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

Create and display your profile
Deliver core features (feed, comments, reactions, Send Love)
Support Shabbat Mode and quiet-hour logic
Maintain safety and moderation
Prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
Improve performance and reliability
Provide customer support

All data use is purpose-based and limited to the functioning of the platform.

4️⃣ How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data.

We only share data with trusted service providers who help run StarLove:

Supabase (database, authentication, storage, logs)
Vercel (hosting)
Cloudinary or Supabase Storage (media uploads)
Pusher (real-time updates & messaging, if enabled)
Email providers (transactional emails)

These partners are bound by strong privacy and security terms.

5️⃣ Data Retention

Profile data → kept until your account is deleted
Posts, comments, reactions → kept until deleted
Messages → kept until your account is deleted
Deleted account data → removed within 30 days
Backups → securely purged within 90 days

6️⃣ Your Rights

Where applicable, you may access, correct, delete, export your data, or withdraw consent.

7️⃣ Children

StarLove is not intended for users under age 13.

8️⃣ Security

We use industry-standard protections including Row Level Security (RLS), access controls, TLS encrypted transport, media encryption, rate limiting, and abuse detection.

9️⃣ International Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States or other regions where our service providers operate.
